WORLD DANCE | General Terms and Conditions

I. Introduction

1. WORLD DANCE (hereinafter referred to as the “competition”) is a competition of dance groups and dance schools, organized as an open competition for ensembles from all over the world.

2. The competition is announced by WORLD DANCE, z.s., with its registered office at Švihovská 546/3a, Prague 4, 142 00

3. These generally binding rules of the WORLD DANCE CUP – WORLD DANCE CHAMPIONSHIP competition (hereinafter referred to as the “rules”) are governed by the legal regulations of the Czech Republic our home country and seat. By registering, competitors declare that they understand and agree to the general terms and conditions and rules of the competition.

II. Announcement of the competition

1. Registration of dance groups and dance schools always takes place in the period January – June and exclusively on the competition website www.worlddance.eu

2. Admission to the competition is subject to fulfillment of the conditions specified in Art. III. of these rules, the competition rules and the propositions of the individual competition rounds, published on the website www.worlddance.eu The exact time and place of the competition rounds will be published in the manner specified in Art. IV. of these Rules.

3. The competition takes place in rounds following the following competition statutes:

1. VIDEO QUALIFIERS – global video qualification

2. COUNTRY QUALIFIERS – in different countries (groups can participate in any region)

3. GRAND FINALE – final round (for qualified competitors from VIDEO QUALIFIERS or COUNTRY QUALIFIERS)

III. Conditions for competitive dance groups and dance schools

1. A dance group, dance school, children’s and youth home, leisure center, elementary art school or other group meeting the conditions, competition rules, competition rules and propositions of individual competitions within WORLD DANCE can participate in the competition.

2. Only a member of a dance group meeting the conditions set out below (hereinafter referred to as the “contestant”) may become an individual participant in the competition. A competitor may be a member of multiple dance groups. By participating in the competition, the participant agrees to the general terms and conditions and rules of the competition, the competition rules and the competition propositions. The participant of the competition shall personally sign the SIGNATURE FORM or have it signed on behalf of his/her legal representative (for persons under 15 years of age) as a written confirmation of agreement with the stated conditions.

3. Participants in the WORLD DANCE competitions agree that the organizer or a person authorized by it may take photographic, visual and audio-visual or audio recordings of the dancers, choreography and personal expressions of all competitors at all qualifying and nomination competitions of the WORLD DANCE events (hereinafter referred to as “recordings”) and to use such materials in documentation and promotional materials in all known and available ways of use (internet, media promotion, press, print and electronic media such as television and radio). This consent is granted for an unlimited period of time and throughout the world. Each participant, dancer (competing group) guarantees to the organizer of the WORLD DANCE competition that he will not make any financial request for participation in any of this competition or any other financial request for the provision and use of the recordings.

4. If the organizer finds out at any time during the competition that a competitor does not meet the competition conditions or has seriously violated the rules set out in the competition regulations, he is entitled to exclude the competitor or the entire dance group from the further course of the competition. The organizer or a person authorized by him decides exclusively whether a competitor meets the competition conditions and no appeal is allowed against his decision.

5. The participants of the WORLD DANCE competition agree that the organizer of the competition, providing facilities and services in the rented competition premises, is not liable for damage to objects caused by a third party (provision of Section 433 of Act No. 40/1964 Coll. of the Civil Code) that were brought into the competition premises by natural persons, unless the damage was caused by the intentional fault of the organizer of the competition or one of the organizer’s employees. The participants of the competition are obliged to deposit valuable items with their group leaders or responsible representatives. The competition area is understood as the sports hall as a whole, including all internal and external areas of the sports venue.

6. Withdrawal from the competition is possible. The cancellation fee for withdrawal from the competition or non-participation of any dancers in the team (illness, injury, etc.) is 100%.

IV. Competition rounds – general rules

1. The evaluation of individual competitive dance choreographies is carried out by a professional jury (hereinafter referred to as the “jury”). The organizer decides on the composition of the jury. Each dance group leader or choreographer has the right to look at the judges’ evaluation after the competition and request the result lists and evaluation.

2. From the first rounds of the VIDEO QUALIFIERS and COUNTRY QUALIFIERS competition, groups and dancers who have qualified will advance to the GRAND FINALE.

3. If a advancing dance group does not participate in the final round for any reason, the organizer may replace it with substitutes (other non-advancing dance choreographies) based on their placement in the previous round.

V. Prizes and Gifts

1. Prizes and gifts will be provided to the contestants depending on their overall placement.

By participating in the competition, the contestant acknowledges that the prize or gift won ar cannot be exchanged for another prize or gift, nor can financial compensation or other compensation be requested for it. The organizer is not responsible for the quality and condition of the prize or gift, and any possible complaint must be made to the supplier of this prize or gift.

2. Prizes and gifts from the competition are not legally enforceable.

3. The contestants will pay tax on the prizes and gifts that they receive from the competition in accordance with the legal regulations of the Czech Republic, if these prizes and gifts are subject to such obligations. The term prizes and gifts means, for example, financial performance, goods, services, tours, accommodation, tickets and/or airline tickets, etc. Rejection of the prize by any of the contestants will mean forfeiture of the prize.

4. The organizer is not responsible for any delay by the supplier in delivering the prize or the condition in which the prize is delivered. Failure to comply with the rules of the competition may lead to the disqualification of the contestants and the forfeiture of any material or monetary prizes/gifts.

VI. Protests against competitors – irregularity

1. A protest against irregularity (in a dance discipline, age category, in the case of unauthorized and prohibited use of backdrops, etc.) can only be filed by the head of the dance group or choreographer, orally or in writing to the competition management. In the case of a protest, a record must be made of this, including a positive or negative decision in favor of the protesting party.

2. The protest must be supported by any relevant evidence – video recording, ID card in the case of a protest against unauthorized performance in an age category, testimony of at least two independent persons over the age of 18.

3. A protest against a given entity (dance group, dance school, dancer, etc.) will be assessed only with the participation of three parties.

a) the party filing the protest

b) the party subject to the protest (its representative, manager, choreographer, etc.)

c) the competition management, as an arbitrator, who decides on the basis of the competition rules and the principle of fair play (this arbitrator can be any independent person, authorized by the competition manager, over 18 years of age, from among recognized experts in the given competition – e.g. the competition manager, the jury manager, the representative of the competition organizer)

There is no appeal against the arbitrator’s decision and this decision is irreversible.

4. The refundable deposit in the event of a protest is set at EUR 100. It is payable at the time of filing the protest and must be paid in cash on the basis of the issued tax document. This deposit is refundable if the protest is accepted. If the arbitrator decides against the protesting party, this deposit is forfeited in favor of the competition organizer.

5. The protest must be resolved at the given competition without delay, within the framework of the flawless conduct and implementation of the competition.

6. The competition management may grant an exception to the competition rules to the files. Before submitting a protest, please first inform the competition management.

VII. General provisions

1. The contestant agrees to the processing of the provided personal data in accordance with Act No. 101/2000 Coll., on the Protection of Personal Data, as amended, for the purpose of the competition, for the period strictly necessary, at the latest until a written appeal. The contestants further agree to the inclusion of their name, surname and place of residence, or other necessary data, in the context of publishing the results of the competition and its winner.

2. The organizer reserves the right to cancel the competition or change the rules at any time.

3. The organizer reserves the right to make a final decision in all possible disputes arising from this competition.
